Sie kam gerade aus einem Kino, in dem sie – Lilly Monroe – sich einen Horrorfilm angesehen hatte. In Gedanken und mit einem mulmigen Gefühl im Bauch lief sie die Straße hinunter und trat gerade auf ein Gitter im Boden, als unter ihr eine U-Bahn vorbei fuhr. Ein starker, warmer Luftzug pustete ihr Kleidchen nach oben, so dass sie es nur mit Mühe festhalten konnte. Huch! Und dann musste sie lachen.
